The Battle Continues Week 2

I decided to try to blog about my weight loss struggles on a weekly basis (hopefully I can keep up) I think it will help keep me accountable to my goals. Plus, I know I'm not the only one on this journey. Lots of people deal with weight issues, food issues, image issues, etc... So I'm being brave and sharing mine.

So, in two weeks I've lost 5 lbs. Woo Whoo! 11 more to go. We've worked really hard to keep our portions under control and healthy. Emmett loved vegetable purees before solid foods. He hasn't really taken a liking to their solid counter parts. I think it's the texture. He will sometimes still eat the purees, but he wants to do everything himself, and he doesn't yet have the hand eye coordination for it. So I'm sure you can picture that scene. Anyway, I got the cookbook Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld for Christmas. It's premise is making healthy foods with vegetable purees so that your family is still getting their vegetables. Making the purees can be a pain, but once you have a bunch stocked everything is really easy. Everything we've made so far has tasted great and Emmett has loved them. I've calculated weight watcher points on them, and they are relatively low to average points. The calorie count on them is relatively low too. So that's been nice.

The part that is going to throw a hiccup in the weight lost journey is exercise. I am having trouble finding time to exercise. I know that after awhile I will not be able to get the weight by watching my diet only. The only time in our day when we could possibly work out would be to get up an hour early (5am) or wait until Emmett goes to bed and work out at 8pm. The early hour is hard because it's early and the later time is hard because I'm so tired and it's the time I grade papers and hang out with Eric. It's a dilemma. We'll see what happens.
