Eric and I spent our first weekend away from the baby. It was time our marriage needed and we had a good time BUT it was super hard to be away from Emmett. Eric's Aunt and Uncle watched him for us. He did great! He got a lot of attention, was around a lot of other kids, and he got to go swimming a lot(which he loves). I think he did better than me. I got Emmett sick quite a lot. He is at an age where it didn't seem to phase him. It did boost Eric and I's egos when we got home and he was all smiles when he woke up and saw us.
Eric and I had fun together. It was weird because we haven't been just us in what feels like for ever. It was fun to get to "catch up" with each other if you will. It was refreshing to just have fun with my spouse. No fighting or grouchy attitudes, which was great. I have to say, it was nice to just sleep. We stayed up late and slept past 6am. The sun woke us up, not screaming. It was awesome.
Now we are back to reality. I have to say I don't mind my screaming alarm clock. I am glad to have him back. I know we'll have to do it again, but probably not for a long time. I told Eric I will never leave Emmett again. Probably an exaggeration, but it won't be any time soon.
