So for those of you who didn't know, I came home to Michigan for the Thanksgiving holiday. It is the first time I have been back to Michigan since we moved to AZ 16months ago. The main point of the trip was to spend time with my family. I have been rather homesick and extremely stressed out so my hubby sent me home for some much needed R&R with the family. This was planned at the very last minute, but we just so happen to get such an amazing deal on plane tickets. We couldn't pass it up.
The unfortunate part is that Eric was unable to come with me. He is 100% commission and couldn't afford to take the days off. Especially since we are coming home for 10 days in December. We are missing each other like crazy people. We haven't been apart for much more than an overnight since we've been married. I acknowledge we are lame and pathetic, but hey that's just how we are. Thank goodness for cell phones and family plans.
Despite how much I miss my husband, I have been having a great trip! I have been able see my parents, brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews. Most of which I have not seen since we've left. I have also gotten to spend some time with a few close friends, which has been excellent. I have gotten more rest and sleep in the last 5 days than I have in the past 2 weeks. It feels so great to take a mental vacation from my job. I think I can make it to Christmas vacation now (13 school days and 1 Christmas concert to go). My mom and I spent the whole day in down town Holland. You don't really realize what a neat town it is until you leave it. Now that we have our own home, it was so fun to go into all the home stores. Not like I can afford it. Let alone transport it to my home. But hey, who can really? It's way fun to get ideas of what is out there.
I have one more full day here. I will be going to church with Doug and Karen and then have family dinner in the afternoon. I hope to see my sister one more time too. It has been truly good for my soul to be here for a few day. I look forward to coming back in 3 weeks.
Pictures to come.
