Seven Falls (Yeah Us!)

Seven Falls

So, today we got up early (not normal for Sunday) and went to early church. We then went to Sabino Canyon. We hiked to Seven Falls. It is a 4 mile hike in and a 4 mile hike out (obviously). Totalling 8 miles. All I can say is, yeah us! I forged the river 7 times each way jumping on rocks. I made it without getting wet ( OK, I did get one foot wet once b/c I was going to fast). If you no me, you know this is a big feet for me considering I am one of the least coordinated people you've ever met.

We packed a lunch and took our time to get there (2.5 hrs.) Once we got there, We sat around and enjoyed the scenery. Eric then climbed up the side of the falls as far as he could. He's such a boy!

I was so proud of myself that on the way back, I sang the song from Rocky where Rocky climbs all those stairs. So, I jumped off the rocks singing duh-nut-na-duh-nut-na. Nananah-Nananah! and so on! I was so awesome!

Then there was this other couple that kept taking turns passing us. My competitive spirit kicked in. I was not going to let them beat us to the beginning of the trail. So we started hauling ass! I was tired my legs felt like jelly, but I was not gonna let a slightly overweight couple (similar to us) beat us. They didn't know they were in a competition, but they should of! So, we went off roading to get ahead of the other groups. Then we started jogging on the rocky hill, which was good for me. Still singing the whole time by the way. I only fell twice on the whole 8 mile hike which is also good for me considering I trip just walking on flat pavement. Anyway we kicked their ass! (and 2 other groups for that matter) And we did the return 8 miles in 1 hour 40 minutes. Yeah us again!
