A Good Week!

So, the first week back was surprisingly great! I expected it to be a difficult week because the kids had been out of the routine for 2 weeks. But to my wonderful surprise my students were GREAT! They were well behaved and picking up everything I was laying down quite well. Needless to stay it put me in a most awesome mood all week.

However, I am beyond tired. The week was good, but jammed packed. We are, once again, going to be visited by the state of Arizona people on Monday. Their visits always increase the stress level around campus. One of my team-mates has been in the hospital all week, so myself and another teammate have been planning for her class as well as our own. We did get our winter assessments back and the data shows all the first graders are making awesome progress. So, yea! Sometimes I'm not sure my kids are actually learning anything, but the scores show they are.

Eric has had a slow week at work. I think it is the lull after the Christmas storm. When its slow like this he gets a bit frustrated. So, we hope for a good Saturday. This is just how sales goes.

We think we have found a church we like. Yeah! Its actually the first one we went to when we got here. Eric's aunt and uncle go there. We tried out a lot of other churches and none seem to fit like this one. The sucky part is it is on the other side of Tucson (35 minutes away). We are late a lot, but what's new. I'm never on time and my prompt husband is slowly wearing down and realizing late is OK. We still are looking for a small group so we can make some friends because we don't really have any. We tried out one but it did not go well. Very uncomfortable! We hope to try the young married group this week. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

We are very excited because we are entering into a season of visitors. Eric's mom, dad, and sister are coming to visit us at the end of January. My brother Scott and his girlfriend Natasha are coming at the end of February. And my parents are coming during my spring break in March. We are so excited because we haven't seen our family in what seems like forever. Plus, it gives us a lot to look forward to. Then we have a 3 month break of nothing before we are tentatively planning on coming home (to Holland) for a visit. So yea! again. Can you believe we've been here almost 6 months? Man time goes fast! It doesn't seem like that long to me.

Well, I've been lazy this morning. I should probably go and get dressed. More later :)
