Update on Baby #2

So we are in are 35th week of pregnancy. All has been going really well. I am much larger this time around, and this baby moves much more than its big brother. Sometimes to the point of nauseousness. I haven't had trouble with the 10 kick counts or questioned movement like I did with my first.

My health care providers, on the other hand, have been a bit overly cautious on this one. I'm considered high risk because of the c-section. Also, Emmett was considered underweight for a full term baby. Full term is 37 weeks and Emmett was 37 weeks and 1 day. A full term baby is supposed to weigh more than 5lbs 8oz other wise they are a low birth weight baby. He was 5lbs 1 oz. They think there were probably placenta problems which contributed to his low birth weight and because he was so small he was unable to tolerate the fast past speed of my labor. Anyway, as a result I've been watched a bit more closely and had to have an extra ultra-sound to check on baby's growth.

Well, no worries. This one is in the 52nd percentile for growth given its gestational age 35 weeks. It is estimated to be 6lbs currently give or take a 1/2lb. It's head down but it's still rolling all over. It hasn't engaged in my pelvis yet. So still not waddling like a duck. This, however, worries me because they are supposed to gain 1/2lb from here on in and if that's the case, I could have close to a 9lb baby if I went to 40 weeks. OUCH! So, I've decided I'm cool with it coming early which up until this point I was not.

I am not to the point where I'm sick of being pregnant yet. For the most part I'm still fairly comfortable. I am still walking my 1.8 miles a day. It's at a much slower pace, but I'm doing it. I've noticed an extreme lack in energy in the past week and sleeping is getting more difficult. Those are my 2 complaints. The nice part has been though, that right about when I noticed a drop in energy my dad came. He's really helped out with Emmett which has been SO nice. That kid wears me out when I'm not pregnant.

I will be 36 weeks on Sunday. I want to make it to 37 weeks because that is considered full term. Anything after that is cake. So, keep watching. Hopefully, we'll be introducing you to the newest Breuker in 1-4 weeks :-)
