A lot happened this month.
I turned 30 and Eric took me away for the weekend.
Emmett turned 2. We took him to the museum and zoo. We had his cousin Ella over to play and eat pizza. They were so cute. We bought 4 helium balloons and that was all the kids needed. They just kept letting them go and yelling "oh-no!" and "Help Help!" until an adult had retrieved them. Eric and I got him a fire truck and a Noah's Ark toy. He is so cute pushing the truck around the living room making siren noises. He loves to take the animals out of the ark and make them climb things.
We did our first Breuker family Thanksgiving. It was really fun to start our own traditions. Eric and I made a small feast for the 3 of us and ate the left overs for days. We lazed around playing trains with Emmett, watched the Macy's Day Thanksgiving Day Parade, and went through all the ads. After lunch, Emmett took his nap and Eric and I set up Christmas decorations. It was so fun because we knew Emmett would love it. He's been picking out the decorations in stores lately and screaming "Oh-Christmas Tree! or Oh-decorations!" So we put up some of our Christmas lights and tree. When he got up, he was so excited and just stood in front of the tree for ever. Afterwards, we went to the park and played all evening. It was a great day off with the family.
I hit the 30 week mark in my pregnancy. That leaves us at most 10 weeks until the family grows. Emmett came 3 weeks early, so I am planning for only 7 weeks but am hoping for 10. I had a mild freak-out with how much we have to get done, purchase, get ready, etc... Eric helped calm me down and check a few things off the list. We put together a little shelf thing to put in the closet to store the new babies clothes. We got out all our newborn clothes, got them cleaned, and put them away. If it's a girl, I'll have to put most of them away. If it's a boy we'll be OK. Eric helped me pick out a little girl outfit in case we have one, so that we'd have an outfit at the hospital. We bought a pack of newborn diapers. We didn't want to buy too many because we think this kid will be bigger than Emmett. Have several more things to do but we'll get there.
Really excited for the Christmas season and to start a few new traditions with Emmett. I have 4 school weeks left at school and then 2 weeks off. Then it will be a waiting game until maternity leave.
That was a lot of reading. If you got to the end. Good Job! Merry Christmas :-)
