The Big Boy Bed

Emmett is on the 6th night in the "big boy bed." We've had it set up in his room for about 2 months. We play on it and talk about it. Occassionally, we've asked if he's ready to sleep in it.

This Tuesday, I was pulling out PJs and diapers for bed and Emmett climbed up on his bed and said, "Mommy, I sleep on my big boy bed." So I was like "OK." and so we started.

Night #1: I laid on the floor until he went to sleep. Only having to get up once to put him back in bed, and once to just lay him down/soothe him.

Night #2: I laid on the floor until he went to sleep. He woke up early and we put him in bed with us to finish sleeping.

Night #3: Laid him down and left the room. He got up immediately hysterical 1 time. Laid him back down and he cried himself to sleep for 5-10 minutes.

Night #4 & 5: Laid him down with no issue. Had to get up once each night just to lay him down and soothe him. I thin he wakes up not aware where he is and needs to be laid back down and soothed for quick minute.

He is even staying in his bed most of the time in the mornings. He has gotten up a few times before we've come to get him, but he never leaves the room. So we're getting there. Nap times in the big boy bed started Friday. Those have been a touch more tricky....but we're getting there.
