Emmett Eric Breuker

Emmet Eric Breuker was born Saturday November 14th 2009 at 4:16pm. He was born 2wks 4 days early. He weighed 5lbs. 1oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. He left the hospital weighing 4lbs 10oz. Thankfully he's a fairly good eater and we are hopeful he will put weight on quickly.

Emmett was born cesarean section because he was not tolerating labor. As my contractions increased in length, frequency, and intensity Emmett's heartbeat continued to dip from 160 to 58 beats per minute and he was unable to recover in between. Eventually it just stayed low. Worried about brain damage and stuff they ordered an immediate c-section. In all, we were at the hospital less than an hour and half from walking through the door to Emmett's birth. It was fast and scary, but we are thankful for our healthy baby boy.

We came home the following the Tuesday. All three of us are doing well. Eric had to return to work today which sucked, but Emmett and I are enjoying our time together. Eric has been beyond great. He has been doing the laundry, cooking, and most everything else. I have tried to help but he won't let me. He doesn't want me to over do it, but I don't sit well. So, today I was able to do some stuff on my own but I got tired and sore...so that's why I'm sitting and blogging instead.

So, that's the latest with us. Thanks to all our friends and family who have been celebrating Emmett's new life with us. We love you. I will add more pictures latter. I was having trouble uploading photos for some reason.
