Anyway, by Eric's definition, a walk is not successful unless we've seen some animals, particularly big butt spiders. Well, as it would happen, spiders come out at dusk to start hunting. So, usually we have very successful walks because Eric will get to see and taunt anywhere from 1-8 spiders during the duration of a walk.
He brought our camera on one of our recent walks so I could put the "cool spiders" up on the blog. So, here I am doing just that. I know that your first reaction (if you're a women) is yuck! But I will have to say they are pretty cool. It is actually really fun to look for them. I am the one who spots them, usually. It's my eagle eyes...or it could be Eric gets so excited he walks too fast and doesn't do a good job of looking.
We've also seen owls, nesting birds, rabbits, bats, and ground squirrels. We both really like the owls. They are so cool with those eyes. The bats are fun to watch too because they fly so erratically. Eric's new goal is to see some snakes. I do not share this goal. I told him to go do that on his own time.
Hope you enjoy the local wildlife. Also, these are all pictures of different spiders we saw on one walk. There were more but I couldn't post more than 5.
More later
