Parent Teacher Conference Week....O-how I loathe you!
Let me start by saying, I have some Super Great Parents this year. I had 21/24 parents show up this week. I get excited to brag on their kids. I love talking to them because they are interested, invested and awesome! They work with their kids at home, care about the kids, and show up smiling.
The part I don't like are the no shows and having to update parents on progress or lack there of. They are aware prior to conferences but it's not always fun bringing up possible retention and stuff. No one likes giving bad or worrisome news. Also, all the talking wears me out. By the end of the week I'm drained. Plus, I was battling a cough and laryngitis all week, which made it all the more yucky!
So, now it's the weekend. I have chores up the ying-yang and work to do. But instead I am sitting on the couch updating the blog watching a movie. My midwife actually told me to rest. Apparently I look tired and need to kick this cough. So, I guess it's fine. Funny side bar, I have the TV remote on my stomach and it keeps wobbling around because the baby is kicking so hard. That I suppose makes resting worth it.
