Mystery Reader

February is reading month. We are doing a "Love of Reading" theme at our school and doing a bunch of fun reading activities to emphasis the fun in reading. For example, we had partner reading yesterday and today we read to a stuffed animal. Thursday, we are doing a reading cafe and Friday we are..I can't remember but it's cool.

Anyway, today I had a mystery reader come into read to the kids. It was my husband. He was super cute. He was so nervous which was funny. He was like, "I've never read to kids before." and then I reminded him that he has hung out with his little cousins and my nieces and nephews, but he didn't think that equated to my 28 kids. I had to pick out a bunch of books for him to choose from and then he had to practice them. My kids are so awesome, that he was greeted immediately with a hug, from my little space cadet. They were soo excited. I have never seen my students be so attentive at a read aloud before. Anyway, it was super cool. So, below I included some pictures of Eric reading to my 1st graders.

How cool! I remember when Neal did that to my first graders at Alward. He too was so nervous but the kids loved it!!!! Glad to hear things are going well!

Eric you looked great! A tie and everything... way to go. I loved it when Josh visited my classroom. He mostly got comments like "you are a very tall man." :) Miss you guys and wish we could see you.
